At one point the host, Jimmy Kimmel mentioned that there were things she wasn’t allowed to say when she was the first lady, and she agreed. That opened her up to a little gimmick he wanted to play.

Jimmy Kimmel referred to her freedom from the White House asking: "As far as I'm concerned, you can cut loose and say anything now, right?" Former First Lady Michelle Obama, 54, replied tentatively, “Yes?”

Then Kimmel got down to his idea. He asked her to Kimmel recite sentences he had written of "things you couldn't say while you were in the White House."

She read, "I've never eaten a vegetable." The jab was aimed at how the former first lady had tended a vegetable garden while in the White House.

At the time, she’d even gone as far as making videos that were meant to encourage children to eat more vegetables. Kimmel joked in response, “I knew it, I knew it!”

Obama responded that the statement wasn’t actually true. The next phrase poked fun at her and her husband’s multiyear Netflix deal which was signed in May.

While laughing, Obama read, "The whole eight years we were in the White House, we used Laura Bush's Netflix password.” She added jokingly, "Laura, sorry, send me the bill.”

The next statement read: "I’m not sure which one’s Sasha and which one’s Malia.” The authoress joked that her two children would definitely agree with the statement.

She said, "You know, they agree. They get so mad every time I mess their names up. I’m like, ‘Who are you?’" Her last card read, "Clooney is my freebie!”

During the interview, she also opened up about her family’s life after the White House. She stated:

"Truthfully we’re boring. We have a teenager at home and she makes us feel inadequate every day, so our self-esteem is low."

She also revealed that she had no intention of running for office. Obama added that her daughters, Malia, 20, and Sasha, 17, had no interest in running for office either.

Her memoir “Becoming,” was released on Tuesday. In it she describes the shock of the Trump presidency, experiencing racism in public life, and the struggle to maintain her self-confidence under the eye of the public while in the White House.

Speaking about Obama running for office David Axelrod, President Barack Obama’s former chief strategist said:

“I think I have as much of a chance of dancing in the Bolshoi Ballet in 2020 as the likelihood of her running for office.”

In her memoir, the former first lady wrote it clearly:

"I’ll say it here directly: I have no intention of running for office, ever.”
