A seven-year-old boy named William Brown was hit by two cars while fetching a ball on December 7, 2023. William died in a collision with one unidentified car and a red Citroen in Folkestone.

Reports state that Sandgate High Street was closed off for 14 hours following the collision. At least ten emergency units reportedly surrounded the scene. The one unidentified car fled the scene, and a 49-year-old man was arrested.

William's mother, Laura, spoke of the moments leading up to her son's tragic death. She said her son was playing soccer with his two friends in the front of the garden while she was making pasta and a Bolognese sauce for dinner.

At first, one of William's friends came to her and said her son had tackled him, and she told him to be gentle. Moments later, the friend returned and said, "Will's been hit by a car."

William's father, Will Brown, explained that the ball went over the wall into the main road, and his son had jumped over to fetch it, something he had never done. He managed to cross the road, but on his way back, he was hit by two cars.

The distraught mother added that William had played in that front garden since birth but never went over the wall. Laura rushed to the scene and found her son lying on the ground.

Laura believed the paramedics were tirelessly working for what seemed like 45 minutes while she lay next to her son. Unfortunately, William died on the road, and the family is still looking for information on how the accident happened.

William's Parents are Looking for Closure

The tragic accident is still under investigation by the Kent Police. The authorities are pleading for witnesses to come forward with any information if they saw what happened.

William's father created a video explaining the accident and asked anyone from Folkestone who might have witnessed anything to go to the Kent Police. "It's a busy road that someone knows what's happened." emphasized the father.

In the video, Will gave a map of where the accident occurred. "We really need to know so we can lay our son in peace and know what happened to him," expressed the father.

Laura paid tribute to her son and said, "William was the sweetest, kindest, and funniest boy. He was an amazing friend to his friends. He loved animals, history facts, nature, and digging. He loved fossils and dinosaurs."

William's parents also added that their son loved soccer and was a big Manchester United Fan like his father. His favorite player was Cristiano Ronaldo, and the seven-year-old died wearing a Ronaldo kit.

Laura was also counting down to Christmas and could not wait to give her son the present he had requested. "For Christmas, he wanted an octopus, so I got him a taxidermy one. He didn't get to see it; it's still wrapped. I'm going to put it in his coffin," confessed the mother.

William had a six-year-old sister, Pearl, who reportedly cannot grapple with her brother's sudden death. When the parents broke the news to her, she did not understand how her brother had died when he was just playing football in their garden.

The Brown family is heartbroken and has emphasized that they are not on a "witch hunt" for the person behind their son's death, but they want to know what happened to William. Here is a story about a five-year-old boy who tragically lost his life on his first vacation abroad.
