“He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world two and a half weeks early — which is fitting given he was a sweet surprise from day one. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful.”

Perhaps one of the sweetest photos yet is the one where Chip and Joanna's children, Emmie Kay, Duke, Ella and Drake are standing close to their mother's maternity room trying to figure out what was happening inside.

According to Joanna, the photo was taken by a friend, whose identity is yet to be revealed, who might have traveled to the hospital to offer some moral support.

Although the first photos of a celebrity's baby always seem to spark fans' interest, this time it was the name that drew quite a lot of questions, especially since the Gaines broke the tradition of giving their male children names starting with the letter 'D.'

Plus, the name Crew is highly unusual. with the word being normally used as a slang term for a group of friends. According to People, the first time the name popped up in a Social Security list was in 1995.

Since then, the name seems to have grown in popularity, with Joshua Morrow, the actor from The Young and the Restless, naming his son Crew in 2005.
